Pretty and Super Healthy Spring Toast Recipes

I saw this colorful toasts image on Pinterest and it wooed me, because…so dang pretty. But on closer examination the diverse and healthy ingredients caught my eye and I thought, “Get on this, Cath.” Avocado smeared on amply buttered toast is delicious and all, but maybe I need to amp  things up. The Glitter Guide gathered seasonal recipes for Spring and I’m all over them. Like… + avocado and spinach with cucumbers + caprese salad toast + blueberry chia seed jam with dragon fruit + almond butter with cinnamon, honey and chamomile flowers (my favorite!) Get healthy with a smile on your face…Check out more here!

Rainbow Unicorn Toast Recipes

Toast recipes have hit all all-time high in popularity. Likely because they’re photo-worthy, sure. But, too, they can be uniquely healthy. Who knew a slice of toast could pack such a punch? Food stylist and photographer Adeline Waugh has this to say about her colorful technique, I’ve been trying to incorporate red beets into as many creations as possible, ever since I realized that they can turn just about anything into the most ridiculously beautiful shade of hot pink. I was using beet cream cheese to make colorful pink toast, and then it occurred to me that I could probably make additional colors of cream cheese using natural ingredients… I don’t mess around with toxic chemicals in my food, so food coloring was never an option. I use beet juice for the hot pink, freeze dried strawberry powder for the light pink, turmeric root juice for the orange/yellow, drops of chlorophyll for the light green, spirulina powder for the light blue, and freeze dried blueberry powder for the purple. Really loving this, you guys. Peep more here + on her (super pretty) Instagram, too!

Make / Charcuterie and Cheese Board

Ok so now that Halloween is over and we’re about to head full force into Thanksgiving and then, gasp, the Winter Holidays, I thought I’d round up the how-to of charcuterie and cheese boards. As a vegetarian, I tend more toward the cheeses and fruits, but laying out a full selection is the perfect offering for any gathering. And, you guys, it’s super easy to whip up. No cooking or baking. Just collect some goodies from the farmers market or grocery shop, slice them up, and arrange everything along the board. There’s really no one way to set this beauty up (because, don’t all of these colors and textures make for the prettiest tabletop display?). But if you’d like some guidance on selections and arrangements, I’ve got you covered. For an overall event prep, check out Apartment 34 for an overview. Here’s an easy how-to from Cup of Jo And another helpful breakdown via Oh Joy! How about one more take from Epicurious? And there it is…the most amount of food with the least effort. You’re welcome. To this day, whenever I go back east to visit, he’ll have the pancake batter ready to go when I awake and arrive in the kitchen. Still a special treat for me years later. So, naturally, coming across this recipe from Oh Joy! is making the nostalgia return. Makes me feel swell at even the thought of it. Want to take the sass up a notch? Try these rainbow pancakes! You’re very welcome. And a happy day to you…
