Weekend Wrap-up

Hey there, folks. Just chiming in with a quick weekend wrap-up (it’s been awhile since the last one, hasn’t it?). So here… I had a fun weekend trip to LA where I visited with friends, spent a good long while examining art in a museum, drank a little champagne, ate some pizza, drooled over pretty baked goods, laughed a lot, hugged, and felt thankful for a solid round of quality time. Now I’m back home and working on a few details with the rebranding for my shop, including Winter 2017 collection designs. A good balanced past few days. Now for some neat links gathered from around the web. I think you’ll like ’em… An ode to alone time. Have you seen these candles? Brilliant idea. (I’d say Massachusetts is on point!) These would be a great end of Summer soiree treat. A cute + super easy DIY Made me chuckle A sweet built-in fort for a kids’ room Why is this still even a thing? (Haven’t we yet realized that there are far more important things going on in the world than to criticize women who choose not to have children? Ugh.) And then this…quite true. Into the weekend

After a troubling week of national + global unrest, can we just take a few minutes of distraction to calm the mind + heart with fun Summer weekend vibes? That said, I want to lay myself on top of all of these pool inner-tubes and floats, drink in hand, and pretend people are kinder to each other. And breathe… So… how about some links gathered from around the web? A friend recommended Seekers Stories. (Start with this one. Hopeful.) Beach + poolside shopping guide Blueberry Italian cream soda I want to try this. I love the tenderness of this moment. And this… A very simple question about being black in America. Into the Weekend

Swinging into the weekend over here. It’s a most eagerly awaited holiday weekend, yes, but also I’m hosting a Pop-Up Shop Party on Saturday. So it’s really all about that until around 5pm tomorrow and then… cocktail + a movie to wind down. There’s always so much preparation that goes into these events. But I love the process. I love the planning and designing. I love the set-up. I love the people that come to join in. I love the energy of a roomful of different personalities and the coming together for the sole purpose of fun + an appreciation for pretty things. For now, I’m fairly certain I’ll be pulling another all-nighter, but I’m ok with that because if I’m creating on my own terms, I’m a happy girl. How about some neat links from around the web? Here ya go… If I could eat one snack from now through eternity, it would be this. These floral shoes Such happy kitchen details Types of people you’ll find at the airport (so good) On my day-trip / mini vacation travel list Cute Yes to this. And, you guys, I lost a friend suddenly this week and it’s been another reminder of the finite nature of our time here. So hug your loves, love your life. It’s all that matters, isn’t it? Enjoy a good weekend. Love, Cath [ beach illustration by kate pugsley via the neotrad ]
