Make / DIY Custom Painted Bowls

I always have, am currently, and will likely always be an ardent fan of cereal. In fact, I’m eating some right now. The only difference between now and when I was, say, eight years old is that the choices I make now have significantly less sugar. But boy do I miss Fruity Pebbles, Cap’n Crunch, and Cookie Crisp (truth told, I’ll splurge on their sugar high once in a blue moon…sooooo good, but then sooooo bad in my nauseous tummy). So when I caught sight of this wonderfully colorful painted bowls DIY, I had to share. I love the true creative variety, the possibilities, with this fun project. Sugar and Cloth did a bang up job on theirs in this post. Go check it out for the how-to!

Make / Rainbow Disco Ball DIY

Today I’m needing sunshine and rainbows and sparkles. Much like an eight year old desperately holding onto the last days of summer, right before school begins. You know that feeling? It’s the simultaneity of relishing, revelling, and longing for something you know you’re going to desperately miss while diving head first into the next stage. It’s kind of how I feel about the world right now…The desire to be safe in my little world, knowing full well I have work to do in the broader sphere. That work, of course in this case, is social justice. Trick is to remember that in it, too, lies color, light, and hope. And hey, what better reminder of that than this happy little DIY?  I’d love to make this rainbow disco ball the championing symbol for transformative peace and the ultimate evolution of the movement we’re all now in. Cheesy? Nah. Hopeful, though. Yes. p.s. The sunshine outside grew as I typed this post, so I’m gonna go ahead and take it as a sign. p.p.s. See the full DIY over on A Beautiful Mess ♥

A Unique and Pretty Mother’s Day Gift Wrapping Idea

I just adore this unique way of gift wrapping, using fabric and fresh floral accents. And if you’re looking to a sweet idea for adding that WOW factor to a Mother’s Day gift (or, hey, any gift) this’ll do the trick. To my mind, the wrapping is like a bonus present; visual candy that gets the heart beating…you get me? I’ve presented fabric and floral adorned packages o’ love in the past and, hear me with this, the delight on the recipients’ faces made me want to completely up my gift wrapping game to this whole other level for every occasion. Which I’ve slacked on, but oh when I have my sh*t together and create a fancy number, I’m quite pleased with myself. You’d be, too. Try it out, yes? See the full DIY over on Camille Styles!

Adorable and Fun Party-Loving Piñata DIY’s

I woke up this morning glad that the sun was shining and thinking of piñatas. So naturally, I had to gather a round-up of some of the most adorable, fun, party-loving DIYs…courtesy of Oh Happy Day. I’m partial to styles that are neither animal nor human characters because, I mean, it’s kind of messed up to beat the living crap out of a sweet pony or, say, a child’s favorite Power Ranger. Call me sensitive, go ahead. But me and this kid are on the same page. He gets it. So how about these cute alternatives? Yes, please… All DIYs via Oh Happy Day!
